On March 17, 2017, veteran voice-over artist Joe Paulino (McDonalds, KGO-TV, Orchard Supply Hardware, Clorox, Purina, LucasFilms…) embarked on a poetry project that lasted 1,405 consecutive days.  Wanting to wrap it up with a bang, he decided to offer his final poem as a contemporary parallel to Allen Ginsberg’s controversial 1956 landmark Beat epic, HOWL.  He called it (my)HOWL.

Every stanza of (my)HOWL is a reflection on, or response to Ginsberg’s original, while still serving as a commentary on the events, politics and personalities the world was subjected to during the first Trump administration.

On October 11, Joe will lend his voice to both works, highlighting their perspectives and imagery, and exploring where they come together, diverge, and unite again in their fierce, graphic and unique dives into the lowly, and the holy.

Joe will be backed by his friend Mike Shea on acoustic bass, and they will work together to spontaneously explore the rhythm and melody of the moment, improvising a unique and hopefully moving collaboration that will not be repeated.
